Sony has just released their MP3 compatible Sony CFD-S40CP BoomBox which is the first of it's kind to support MP3 CD's! It currently retails at US$ 140.

Sony released information for it's first ATRAC3 Player, the VAIO Music Clip MC-P10. It weighs less than two ounces, is a little over 4.5 inches long and less than an inch in diameter. It has "only" 64 MB of internal RAM but still it can play 2 hours of music from a pen!
The package in which this device comes claims that it will play MP3 files, this is NOT true. It can only play ATRAC3 files and additional is needed to first convert MP3's to ATRAC3.
