The DataDock 8x24 CD-R Module and
the MicroNet HD Master 4000 Pro
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--July 1, 1999--MicroNet Technology, Inc., a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Ampex Corporation and an innovator in
high-performance storage solutions, today announces two new
CD-Recorder systems for creative professionals, IS managers and
software developers. The MicroNet HD Master 4000 Pro system
combines leading edge 8x24 CD-R technology with a MicroNet 4GB
hard disk drive in one compact, external enclosure to create the
fastest high quality CD-ROM mastering system available. MicroNet's
new 8x24 CD-R module for its DataDock® system offers rapid 8x
record speeds and 24x read speeds in a transportable module. The
HD Master 4000 Pro system carries an SRP of $1310, and the 8x24
CD-R DataDock module is priced at $680 SRP. Both systems are
available now.
The MicroNet HD Master 4000 Pro
system creates CDs at an 8x speed, and can also be used as a
multisession 24x CD-ROM reader. The 4MB cache buffer and 8x record
speed ensure the fastest and safest recording available, with the
ability to create 650MB CDs in as little as nine minutes. With an
intuitive drag-and-drop graphical user interface (GUI), users can
easily create CDs at a moment's notice, since there is no need to
dedicate existing hard drive space to the process.
The 8x24 CD-R module is an ideal
solution for existing DataDock 525 users who want to upgrade their
systems with the newest CD-R technology. Backward compatible with
all CD-based products, the 8x24 CD-R has a total storage capacity
of 650MB per CD, and offers 8x write speeds and 24x read speeds.
The CD-R employs a SCSI-2 interface and average access times of
150ms.
Both systems ship with two 8x
certified recordable CDs and Adaptec Toast software for the
Macintosh, which dramatically simplifies CD writing. Toast
software supports a wide variety of formats including Macintosh
HFS, ISO 9660, CD ROM XA, Mac/ISO Hybrid, Generic, Generic XA,
Mixed Mode and Audio. Toast software also provides the ability to
master a hybrid CD that has references to common data, such as
graphics files, while reducing the amount of storage space.
