Imation DVD-RAM & 12X CD-R Media
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 1999--Imation Corp. announced today that it will extend its storage offerings to include DVD-RAM and 12X CD-R media.

Imation DVD-RAM discs provide up to 5.2GB of capacity ideal for storing and transferring large files such as music, video, data, multimedia software, and Internet downloads. Compatible with all DVD-RAM drives, the media offers reduced noise and reduced disc tilt. DVD-RAM media offers enhanced durability, designed to last for at least 100,000 read/write cycles. Available in the first quarter of 2000, Imation will offer the media in 2.6 GB or 5.2GB single packs.

Also early next year, Imation will introduce Imation 12X CD-R discs designed for use with the new generation of 12X speed dual-function CD-ReWritable drives, which will allow users to burn CD-Rs in as fast as six minutes.

With the wide acceptance of CD-R technology, the discs are ideal for storing and sharing data, custom music, photos, and video. The 12X CD-R discs are backward compatible and can be recorded on existing CD-R and CD-RW drives at 1X, 2X, 4X, 6X, 8X and 12X speeds. With its multi-drive compatibility and ability to playback at slower editing speeds, the new media is particularly suited for audio applications. Imation 12X CD-R discs will be available in 10-packs in early 2000.

Steve Ladwig, president of Imation Data Storage and Information Management, said, "Imation's introduction of DVD and fast, 12X speed CD-R media further demonstrates our commitment to offer a full line of optical storage solutions, and solidifies our reputation as a leader in the newest storage formats."

With the addition of these new products, Imation's full portfolio of optical storage solutions includes DVD-RAM, 1X-12X speed CD-R, CD-RW and CD-R DA media, as well as CD-R and CD-RW drives.
