TAEC, Disk Products will be demonstrating its combination CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive for the first time publicly during Comdex '99. In addition, Toshiba will also be showing its growing family of industry leading computer storage peripherals for both desktop and mobile markets. Toshiba's storage peripherals include DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM, CD-ROM and its versatile line of mobile Hard Drives.

Demonstrations on the show floor include:

Combination CD-RW/DVD-ROM: Toshiba continues to exceed customer expectations with innovative drives such as the new SD-R1002 combination drive -- the world's first drive that reads both CD-RW and DVD-ROM media. The drive features a fast writing speed of 4X for CD-R and CD-RW, and employs a full 24X speed maximum playback for CD-ROM and 4X for DVD-ROM.

DVD-RAM: Toshiba demonstrates the future of rewriteable optical drives with DVD-RAM. Toshiba's SD-W1111 DVD-RAM drive answers customer demand for an imaging and storage based application drive featuring fast transfer rates and a large 2MB cache. Because DVD-RAM is a random access rewriteable storage medium, it can be used in a vast array of archiving and video recording applications.

Toshiba will also showcase their complete line of half-height and mobile drives:

Toshiba brings to market half-height optical drives that provide high performance computing. Toshiba provides a vast array of mobile storage solutions in addition to their half-height drives. Toshiba's portable solutions include HDDs in a 2.5-inch form factor ranging between 6 and 8GB; slim CD-ROM and slim DVD-ROM.
